the Future
A roller shutter is a device that controls the roller blinds, awnings, gates, and Venetian blinds either remotely through the Z-wave or with a switch connected to it. Z-wave is a wireless communication protocol commonly used in home automation. It can also control other single-phase, AC-powered installations. When working with the Fibaro Home Center, it has the feature of power metering of the connected devices.
The compact device can be installed in the wall switch boxes and ensures the positioning of the roller blinds and Venetian blinds with great precision. The roller blinder works with any type of switch-toggle, momentary, etc- and any AC-powered device can be controlled with it.
Like any other Fibaro device, roller blinds make your life easy. You can configure scenes to control the roller blinds, or remote-control using a voice command, gesture, or a button click and an app. You can also control the blinds and gates with a dedicated switch. You can adopt any of the methods according to your wish.
The radio module is placed in the housing of the wall switch and this switch acts as the input for the roller blinder that controls the motor. The switch sends a control signal to the roller blinder and this signal triggers scenes or controls the AC motor of blinds, gates, etc.
It is recommended to use a wall box with 65 mm depth and those with 45 mm depth can be used if the space behind the switch is smaller.
