Stebilex Insights spoke to David Sodergren, Regional Sales Manager for Paxton in the Middle East about their products, and access control systems in general. In his conversation, David gives a glimpse of Paxton’s business, and the role its partners play in the region.
Why Invest in Access Control
He explains, businesses invest into access control systems for different reasons including security, time & attendance, and residential intercom etc. But in a lot of buildings, where there is a high turnover of people, the facility management might want to monitor who’s walking in and out of those doors, which is much easier and economical to install an access control mechanism and replace keys and fobs with cards or biometric devices. He says, a small business would see a return on investment in six-months to a year, while for a larger business, where there are a lot of red tapes, it might take three to four years time.
Paxton Access Installer Training
According to David, taking training can be very useful for Paxton partners and distributors. He says that no matter how easy or simple it is to install a product if you don’t know the product, you will find it difficult to talk to customers about it or to install. Paxton provides installer training to access professionals in the UAE every month at their office in Silicon Oasis, and one can register for this on their website.

Paxton and Its Partners in the Region
David says that Paxton’s role is to support the customer’s project from start to end and make sure customer satisfaction and its partners, be it distributors or system integrators. As they are the first people the customers talk to. It is just as important for them to build a good relationship with end-users. The more the distributor/system integrator is comfortable with the product, the better use of Paxton products we will see in existing and future projects.
He says distribution partners are very important in the Middle Eastern market, where the brand is the number one concern and product, in a lot of cases, is second. He says it could be stipulated that the more distributors are aware of the product, they can talk to their customers about it with more authority about Paxton products and get more approvals.
