This kind of technology is typically put at high-risk locations where the public and assets need to be protected to the fullest extent possible. Usually in areas where there is a strong possibility of a large vehicle attack, such as public areas (stadiums, fairgrounds), governmental buildings, or military facilities, etc. These bollards are mounted in single or multiple pieces and connected through hydraulic lines to an external hydraulic station and PLC. For manual control, a separate push-button control unit is offered and is often housed in the security office.
