Fibaro Dimmer 2 is a unique device designed to fill this gap. It dims and switches off the lights whenever it is needed. The dimmer is being retrofitted into an existing light switch and enables you to control the light wirelessly. The device is compatible with both the Z-wave and Z-wave plus networks which are wireless communication protocols commonly used in home automation.
The radio-controlled Fibaro Dimmer 2 works with almost all types of light sources and can operate either through radio waves or with the help of the wall switch connected to it. An algorithm of smart light source detection makes the configuration easier and provides the device with high compatibility.
As a dimmer, the device is capable of working with conventional incandescent and halogen lights, dimmable LED lights, dimmable compact fluorescent CFL tube lamps, dimmable light sources with a power factor of more than 0.5, etc. Without the dimming function, the device works with CFL and fluorescent tubes with electronic ballast, LED lights with a power factor greater than 0.7, and other light sources with a power factor greater than 0.5.
The Dimmer 2 is the most intelligent of its kind. It selects the most suitable dimming type automatically by measuring the power being used by the connected light. It then sends this value to the Z-wave network system and sets dimming as per the type of light source.
The dimmer is compatible with both the older type 3-wire electrical connections and the two-wire connections and can be used for scene management. The device is capable of measuring the power of the connected devices. This helps you save energy and reduce your electricity bill.
