What are Hydraulic Retractable Bollards HRB-PROTECTOR by Optima?

 


Hydraulic retractable bollards from the Optima HRB-PROTECTOR series have been crash tested and are specifically made for entrances with very high-security needs. In addition to limiting vehicle access in high-security applications, if large-tonnage trucks travelling at high speeds pose a threat, vehicles beyond the bollards are entirely destroyed, making it impossible for the vehicle to continue going ahead.
 
Bollards of the Optima crash-tested Protector Series are made to meet ASTM F2656M-15 crash standards (equivalent to PAS68, K12). The actual test was completely successful, and the product has received ASTM F2656M-15 certification (grade P1, zero penetration). The Optima HRB-PROTECTOR bollard continued to function even after the collision.
 
The hydraulic drive unit may be operated manually using hand pumps to lower or raise the hydraulic bollard in the event of a power outage. Every type of card reader, biometric reader (such as fingerprint or hand shape), radio control, on/off key switch, etc. may all perform the raise/lower function with the aid of PLC-controlled electronics. Additionally, the system can incorporate safety add-ons such as photocells, inductive loop detectors, flashing lights, or red/green lights.

Characteristic Features

  • Hydraulic Power Unit and Control Electronics

In case of power failure, the bollard can be raised and lowered with the help of a manual pump. Bollard raise/lower time is 3-5 seconds. The emergency fast rise is 1.5 seconds. Coolers or heaters can be integrated for extreme weather conditions. Microelectronics control the bollards.
 

  • Steel Structure

The raising section of the bollards is 350 mm in diameter and raised height is 1100mm. The bollard is made of a special type of steel that is galvanized and is high-grade stainless steel with a flashing light on top.
 

  • Environmental conditions and Power Requirements

The bollard operates efficiently in all weather conditions between -15 degrees celsius to +65 degrees Celsius. It is also operable in non-condensing humidity which makes this bollard versatile.
